Alek Krotoski, a good friend of Second Life both in her job on the Guardian Gamesblog
and in her PhD research at University of Surrey, has created a survey to explore the spread of information in SL. You can find out more about the survey here, but you need to take it at the in-world Social Simulation Research Lab. It should be very interesting to see the results!
Actually, participants can take the survey on the web at the URL you posted--no requirement to log in to SL :)

In fact, you'll need to log in to SL to see all your friendship cards unless you know them by heart, she asks you to review and comment on them.
