NWN IN '04: SUPPORTING THE TROOPS

Many Second Life residents are active duty US military personnel, and more than a few of them log into the world from overseas. This would not be so extraordinary, if we were not living in such extraordinary times, with war, peacekeeping, and the ongoing aftermath of 9/11's terror attacks the crucial events of the day. (Whatever one's political opinion on the how and why of using military force, in general or particular.)

Often, these residents have amazing stories to tell, and because of Second Life's building tools and high degree of anonymity, they also have a unique medium to tell them, fully and openly. Because of this, their stories were a recurring part of New World Notes for 2004-- as they no doubt will, in the coming year...
