TRAPS LAID, DIE CAST

"Hey, Hamlet," quoth Bam Perkins, in a secretive message sent to me via Instant courier, "you might want [to] avoid Rausch and Jessie. There are plots to kill you, 'cause I mentioned your expedition. And now they are waiting.

"Sorry," adds Perkins.

Sorry? Good heavens, man!

And so two days before the great expedition, I learn of threats and designs of malicious mischief, lying in wait. No matter, for our party already swells with vigor...

To wit, it now includes:

- a cartographer
- two balloonists (with room as yet for travelers up to 5-8 or so on each)
- two voyagers, roles as yet undetermined
- a metaphysician
- six madmen/madwomen
- a quote "SL Community Organizer committed to the Sucess of Second Life"
- a quote "crazy Brit chick" unquote
- an quote "unstoppable entity known as 'Bling'" unquote
- a quote "motorcycle-riding dirty limerick reciting hooligan" unquote

Sixteen in all! A prodigious sum, with room still for nine more. And given the ominous warnings of imminent hostilities, I must beseech my reading public for martial volunteers-- veterans, soldiers, and guns for hire, to protect me as we penetrate the untamed bounds of Rausch and Jessie. Join me, and bring along firearms, and defense emplacements, and other devices to protect my precious person.

Hey what about me? Am I on the list?

Why not try to negotiate free passage instead of using violence!

I suggest you take advantage of your vehicular transportation for the trips through the combat sims, as the no-die sit bug still appears to be in effect... Of course, that may be the "cowards' way out"...

I would go in there with guns blazing, kill them before they have a chance to attack. There is no way as small of a group as opfor can stand up against 16 people with guns.

Hmm. Although sitting on a vehicle will prevent you from being killed outright, the vehicle itself is physical, which means it's at the mercy of pushguns.

I don't know of any way to successfully *walk* from the Clyde to the centre of Rausch and back without either dying or getting orbited. Hamlet, is it acceptable to sit on a box and drag yourself in Edit mode? I'd hate to see the Walk get stuck at Rausch.

I am extremely sorry about what has happened. I mentioned joining Hamlet's expedition and I gave them an idea.

Extremely Sorry,
Bam Perkins
