KATRINA RELIEF KEEPS COMING

As of 9:54am Second Life Time, FlipperPA Peregrine's donation box at the Waterhead Katrina Memorial has raised L$395,929. Probably passed L$400,000 since then, which would mean about $1600 for the Red Cross. I invite Residents to post the tally of their own donations here, in Comments.

Meanwhile, Burning Life is running at full steam. In a previous entry, Cory Edo announces a BL-centric Katrina Benefit at the site:

Wanted to let you know that the Burning Life 05 artists are quickly mobilizing to host Burning Life '05-- Art Does Its Part, an artists' collective response to Hurricane Katrina.

Between 9/5 and 9/12, you'll be seeing (hopefully) auctions (including actual Burning Life builds), free gifts and commemorative items for donations, and informational billboards with phone numbers and information on how you can help.

Don't forget to check Snapzilla and the limited-time Burning Life Snapzilla section, collecting pics from all Burning Life visitors!

If there are Burning Life artists that want to contribute time, talent, or space, please check the following forum thread for information [here].

Comments

When I stopped by Waterhead last week, I used the Red Cross site link and donated US$250 directly.

Thanks Hamlet for bringing this to light. I've been avoiding the forums short-term and also been off SL a lot recently (not of my own volition), so this had helped a lot.

Hamlet, I'm happy to announce that donations will be channeled through my RL employer to *triple* the donations to the American Red Cross for Katrina disaster Relief.
