Cory On Stage at Serious Games
Yesterday the Serious Games Summit kicked off, and our very own Cory Ondrejka gave a presentation about Second Life. An interesting and thorough summary of the presentation can be found on the Wonderland blog.

One thing that always kicked my ass about SL and got me excited was how differently and laterally things in it are approached -- the $10 Basic account being a prime example. That is unique. Another thing is the extensive amount of av-customization for personal expression. And the fact that you aren't tied to forced goals (unless you want to be) but can make your own "story" up as you go along and enjoy that? Awesomeness.
The wackiness totally appeals to my personality, although if I wanna do banal "everyday" stuff and live in a generic house with white picket fences and recreate Hoke's role from Driving Miss Daisy (which otherwise is an excellent tale of friendship although I've never seen the film), I can do that TOO.
In short, it's really cool. =^_^=
